Roles within the church

Seung-Wook 2

Our minister is the

Reverend Seung-wook Jung

Rev Seung-Wook Jung - Minister
I was accredited as an Assistant Pastor; it was like a probationer in the Methodist church, after graduating in Theology of Seoul Theological University, South Korea in 1994. I then came to the UK in 2000 and kept working in the same position in a few Korean churches.
I was ordained in 2008 from the Evangelical Holiness Church in Korea, one of the Wesleyan churches in South Korea. It took much more time than usual to be ordained after being accredited as an Assistant Pastor because I was in the UK.
I began to build up a Korean group in the Chessington Methodist church and it was the beginning of my ministry in the UK Methodist church. I finished the Faith and Worship London course and applied for R&R (recognized and regarded) Minister.
I was accepted as an R&R Minister and was appointed to the North Norfolk circuit in Norfolk in 2011.
During my time in the N.N circuit I was accepted as a minister of full connection in 2014 and worked in the same circuit for 3 more years. And now I am stationed in the South Bedfordshire circuit as my second appointment.
I came with my family: my wife Eunhee; my two daughters: Solee (16), Soyun (13), and my son Yunsang (10). And you can call me Seung-Wook and surname is Jung, not (Yung) as many people say.

Seung-wook is supported in his role by Brenda Ballantine (Circuit Lay worker) and in Toddington by Tania Stanford (Church Mission Enabler) and his team of Stewards: Andy Hulance (Senior Steward), Marion Borgars, Brian Buxton and John Nelson.

There are roles within the church for everyone who wishes to get involved. In addition to the Stewards team there is the Communion Stewards team, the property group, pastoral visitors, Xplorers team, Worship Group, coffee rota and occasional roles when needed for events. Each person is asked to give of their time and talents as is approproate to their particular gifts and situation. Training and support are given whatever the role undertaken.
